The following question is from a letter I am about to send to an old friend:

Why is the most important question of all, “Why”, the one which never seems to have a difinitive answer?

He and I will speculate on reasons, if he cares to address it, but initially, I might suggest that if we had that answer, it would put too much power into our hands. This would be especially true while we are still to young and headstrong to handle power such as this. Answers are for us to maybe come to realize, and continue to be unsure of, in our ‘maturity’, which we, in truth, will always fall short of.

So, out into the Universe go our questions, only to be reflected back for us to ponder further… if we are well connected, maybe reflected back with further considerations attached…

And, our lives go on…

“What is Missing?” – oct ’07

most of what is here, is really not,
most of what we see, is mostly not,
most of this, the Universe, the stars,
most of all the world and all we are.

most of you and me, and this is missing,
many never ask, just take the blessings,
left, devoid of thoughts which hold the questions,
consider it a sin to even mention,

they won’t admit to things we cannot know,
they’re closed from the evolving ever-flow,
of that which bombards our very atoms,
coincidences nudge to bring reactions.

our remainder, drifting, unremarked,
unmoving, stuck, satisfied, parked,
comfortable here, among safe delusions,
interwoven tightly, false conclusions.

but, the missing, so totally dark,
awaits the newly intelligent spark,
what is the purpose, the ultimate use,
what will we learn when we finally lose,

our innocence,
our denial,
our ignorance…
our minds?

because, in the way you wear your identity, you cannot be completely described…
because, your dignity and grace are always there no matter what you do…
because, you quietly command respect…
because, when you can, you are unafraid to connect and nurture…
because, you so easily “sort the wheat from the chaff”, without criticizing the chaff…
because, you have the maturity to appreciate your unique beauty and other qualities without abusing the advantages they give you…
because, you love the natural beauty of the world and realize you are part of it…
because, you demontrate true empathy…
because, you have the eye and ear to appreciate beautiful art and music…
because, in that appreciation, you show real emotion…
because, you have the natural intelligence and intuition to understand so much…
because, you have such a generous nature…
because, you do not veil your feelings…
because, you are the most completely ‘electric’ person i have ever seen, in person or otherwise…
because, in that, you have the ability to move people in ways you cannot yet imagine or appreciate…
because, i am confident there is much more… to what you are… to what you can do…
because you have the courage of a lioness…
because, you simply and purely are so completely and continuously amazing… and, inspiring…

speculations, endless,
